The market for renewable energy systems continued to gain momentum in 2006. More and more homeowners chose heating systems using renewable energy sources, thus fueling demand for solar collectors, electric heat pumps and solid fuel boilers.
The market growth is supported by customers’ growing interest and by increasing government incentives in the form of funding programs and legislation.

Global sales revenues increased by over 20 % to 3.4 billion euros in 2006. Accounting for 35 % or 1.2 billion euros of the total market, solar collectors remain the biggest market segment, followed by the fast-growing segment for electric heat pumps
(43 %). Solid fuel boilers represent 22 % of the global market.
