Hessian Climate Pact: successful start
Wilhelm Dietzel, Environment Minister for the state of Hesse, presented the interim report of the Hessian Climate Pact
Wilhelm Dietzel, Environment Minister for the state of Hesse, presented the interim report of the Hessian Climate Pact on the premises of Bosch Thermotechnik in Wetzlar. According to the Minister, the aim of the interim report is to further increase people’s awareness of the importance of CO2 reduction through maximum transparency. In the context of the Climate Pact, climate protection projects are implemented in the manufacturing/commercial sector, the skilled trades and the construction sector, the logistics/transport industry and, going forward, also in the local communities. Dr.-Ing. Joachim Berner highlighted Bosch Thermotechnik’s contribution to climate protection: “The products we sold in 2006 helped avoid some 4 million tons of CO2. This is equivalent to the absorption capacity of some 1,800 square kilometres of forest a bit more than half of the Hessian State Forest managed by the state forest agency.”
