For example, our 100 % electric boiler systems, hybrid systems and efficiency upgrades will play a key role in reducing emissions, protecting the environment and preserving valuable resources. 24/7 steam: Reliable and energy-efficient production processes

Amino GmbH produces highly purified amino acids for applications in the health, pharmaceutical and baby food industries. This requires huge amounts of steam 24/7, 365 days a year. The core focus: energy saving, automation and customisation. "We're a solutions provider for boiler houses of the future. Our motivation is to individually configure and manufacture steam and heat generators in order to enable sustainable, reliable and cost-effective production processes, just like at Amino," says Daniel Gosse from Bosch Industriekessel.

Hybrid steam boiler from Bosch uses green electricity

Bosch Industriekessel has been offering dedicated process heat solutions for the corrugated cardboard industry worldwide for many decades. An example is the future steam provision at Violeta in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The focus of this project is energy saving, sustainability and more independence. Bosch's solution is a hybrid steam boiler equipped with an electric heater and burner system, so that two different energy sources can be used at the same time. The boiler is designed for a capacity of six tonnes of steam per hour. Of this, around three tonnes of steam per hour can be generated electrically – using green energy from the company's own photovoltaic system.

Climate-neutral steam supply in Iceland with a Bosch electric steam boiler

Independence from fossil fuels and achieving climate neutrality: with the ELSB electric steam boiler, Bosch offers industries new possibilities in the field of electrification. This is also the case in a fish factory in Iceland. The ELSB plant operates with 100% green electricity and produces no flue gases.

Full steam ahead with sugar beet processing

A high steam capacity of up to 72 t/h, produced in a sustainable manner with biogas as the main fuel and energy efficiency of almost 98%: This is the new Bosch steam boiler system ZFR in the sugar factory SLOVENSKÉ CUKROVARY s.r.o., a company from the AGRANA Group. With double-flame tube boilers and a total of four multi-fuel burners, the plant also offers full flexibility. An insight into the large-scale project from delivery through installation and on to operation of the impressive Bosch plant.

Digital support and expert consultation for plant analysis and planning

Which efficiency measures are worthwhile for my specific project? How much emissions can be cut down? Our boiler experts can present this and a lot more at a glance using tools such as the Efficiency Configurator from Bosch. Bosch offers planning support with project-specific 3D data and P+I diagrams, which can already be generated automatically in the early phases of projects. A comprehensive catalogue of standardised 3D models can be accessed directly here. As a further digital service, an interactive planning document for steam boiler systems is available free of charge. Programmed calculation tools, checklists and practical tips on error prevention make work easier for planners and plant engineering companies and make more precise calculations possible.

100% electric, zero emissions: The new ELSB steam boiler from Bosch

Bosch Industrial Boilers presents the new ELSB electrical steam boiler: Available in six different capacities for 350–7000 kg/h of steam production, the electrically heated steam boiler is perfect for virtually any industrial application. In combination with regenerative power, the system generates zero emissions. The ELSB achieves an outstanding efficiency rating of 98.5% – and it’s compatible with water treatment and control components from the Industrial Boilers portfolio. The Bosch ELSB sits alongside our existing hybrid solutions and hydrogen boilers as another technological option for generating CO2-neutral process heat.

When it really matters: 120 MW ensures district heating supply in Amsterdam

Four new low-NOx hot water boilers from Bosch have been connected to the district heating grid in Amsterdam in order to reliably handle consumption peaks and guarantee the supply as a round-the-clock backup solution. The new boilers – which are part of the sustainable heat generation initiative of energy supplier Vattenfall – can also be converted to use CO2-neutral fuels such as biogas, bio-oil or hydrogen, making them a future-proof investment. Testing and training: Combustion component expert uses Bosch heating boiler

The LAMTEC training centre is not only a professional hub, where expert knowledge about optimising combustion processes is shared. Using a new Bosch heating boiler system and firings from well-known burner manufacturers, the company also develops and tests innovations for pioneering sensors and systems in the field of firing technology.

RWTH University is heating with boilers from Bosch

Powerful, dynamic and low in emissions: Those are the benefits of the new Bosch boilers at RWTH Aachen University – one of the leading universities of technology in Europe. Offering nearly 38 MW of power, the energy-efficient heat generators of the UT-M type series heat around 50 large RWTH buildings. During project implementation on site, the new construction of the system in the existing steel structure proved to be a particular challenge. Using 3D laser scans, the responsible engineering company, Kolb, was able to generate an exact visualisation under real conditions in advance.

Bosch supplies steam boiler for hydrogen use

The UL-S steam boiler from the Bosch Gunzenhausen plant uses up to 100% hydrogen from production processes to generate 15 t/h superheated steam. Instead of CO2, water vapour is produced in the flue gas. Boiler and burner with flue gas recirculation are optimally matched to each other and enable low NOx emissions at below 60 mg/m³. In addition to the option of also using natural gas as a back-up fuel, the boiler offers a very high efficiency of over 100% in terms of the net calorific value thanks to condensing technology. The new system will in the future be used at a chemical producer in Poland.

Boiler technology from Bosch reduces CO2 emissions by 15%

Efficient energy generation is a major issue in industrial production. Along with electricity, the demand for steam and heat is very high for many processes. Hans Henglein und Sohn GmbH in the Franconian village of Wassermungenau, Germany, shows how wise it is to invest in sustainable process heat and benefit from attractive subsidies at the same time.
