Bosch innovations that made history

  • 1731

    The company Buderus is founded, which is now part of Bosch Thermotechnology.

  • 1896

    The first wall-mounted Junkers boiler, which is attached to the gas line. The Junkers brand is the predecessor of today's generation of Bosch devices.

  • 1901

    The lamellae boiler revolutionises the technology of the day. The metal lamellae increase the volume of the heat-emitting surface.

  • 1912

    Première of the Junkers floor-standing gas boiler. This invention makes central heating affordable for apartments and single-family homes alike.

  • 1928

    The NEA 38 is a technical sensation: This electric domestic hot water system is the world's first shell-type appliance.

  • 1975

    The first heat pump is invented. The engineers use well water as the heat source.

  • 1985

    The CL-100, the first wall-mounted gas-condensing boiler in Germany, is invented. It saved up to 15% more energy than other solutions available at the time.

  • 1998

    The ThermoStar lamellae-type burner is a success thanks to its silent operation, clean and efficient combustion and ease of maintenance.

  • 2011

    The Energy-plus Home is created using Bosch technology. Over the course of the year, this building provides more energy than the residents consume.

    70 systems with fuel cells are used as part of a European demonstration project.

    Networking makes it possible: HomeCom Pro links customer systems in one versatile service tool for installers.
